About Funnell Design

FDP is a multi-disciplined design, project management and health & safety practice. With over 30 years in practice, our team have been able to offer clients a made-to-measure service including Architectural design, Building Surveying and Project Management. These areas of expertise mean that our clients are assured of a comprehensive approach at all times. Whether we are asked to design a convent, or take a motorway service area from inception to completion, each client can be certain of the same high standard of service as we offer a tailor-made service to all clients.

Key People

Jo Funnell – MCIOB

Managing Director

 

With experience in most sectors Jo now concentrates his efforts in the education, retail and commercial sectors, with a particular specialization in education, retail petroleum and roadside developments. Our clients benefit from a level of experience second to none in these sectors.

Rodney Funnell – RIBA

Consultant Partner

 

Rodney retired as managing Director of Nash and Partners in 2001 and now gives Funnell Design the benefit of his considerable experience and expertise on a Consultancy basis.

Paul Clarke – ACIOB, MCIAT

Consultant

 

Paul first worked with Jo at Nash and Partners in 1997 becoming an Associate Director before leaving in 2002 to join Baqus as Building Surveying and Architectural Director. Paul then to set up his own practice in 2007. Since then he has worked with Jo and his team as a Consultant working closely on a number of varied projects including commercial, education, retail petroleum and motorway service area developments. Paul is experienced in all areas of Architectural design, Building Surveying and project management and is an asset to the FDP team.

Bev Odell

Consultant

 

Beginning her career as an Architectural Technician and gaining full membership of CIAT she developed a particular interest in Contract Administration. Bev’s work in Health & Safety, which was already an integral part of the design process, lead her to full membership of the APS. Bev has played a key role in projects ranging from £20,000 to £10,000,000 in a diverse range of areas including Local Authority, schools, PFS, residential and factories in both the private and commercial sectors. Her experience within Architecture and into Health & Safety has given her insight into all areas of a construction project enabling her to have a pro-active, realistic and considered input into the construction process.
